The General-Coordinator sought the assistance of the United States Ambassador to Georgia in communicating with the Georgian authorities in order to obtain permission to visit Georgia as a human rights defender

Mikheil Saakashvili’s plight must be resolved as soon as possible, following Georgia’s domestic law and generally accepted principles and standards of international humanitarian law

Saakashvili is entitled to live

Obtaining Saakashvili’s right to life will be a moment of clarity regarding the future political strategy of both the Government and the Opposition forces in Georgia for many years to come

Global Citizens sent a statement to the parties concerned regarding the detention of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili.
