The General-Coordinator sought the assistance of the United States Ambassador to Georgia in communicating with the Georgian authorities in order to obtain permission to visit Georgia as a human rights defender

As a goodwill gesture from the American side, the Coordinator-General of Global Citizens International Movement has asked Her Excellency Ms. Kelly Degnan, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, a request to assist the human rights defender in obtaining permission to visit the country from the national authorities of Georgia: for the purpose of holding a meeting with Mr. Saakashvili and Georgian officials to resolve the issue of Mr. Saakashvili receiving medical treatment abroad.

Earlier, an official request was sent by the Coordinator-General to Mr. Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, for permission to visit Georgia for humanitarian purposes, as an international human rights defender.

The General-Coordinator also sent letters of assistance to the parliament of Georgia to the heads of the parliamentary factions.
