The International Movement “Global Citizens” urges Majority and Minority Leaders in the US Congress to demonstrate to the Nation of America their support for the international initiative “We’ll Bring Them Home Alive” and make a personal moral contribution to the free and return home of United States Citizens currently detained on the territory of Russia
The Coordinator-General of the International Movement “Global Citizens” sent letters to the Leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties in the US Congress and urged Senators and Congressmen to assist the efforts of the Movement and American Mothers (representatives of families), whose close and dear —US citizens currently detained on the territory of Russia, in order their release and return home.
We believe and hope the American public entirely agrees with us; the “We’ll Bring Them Home Alive” initiative to release US citizens currently detained on the territory of Russia so that they could return home should find bipartisan support from the US Senators and Congressmen. The question we raise concerns the guarantee of protection for American citizens abroad, which is guaranteed to them by the US Constitution, regardless of which state they reside in.
The International Mediation Mission, including American Mothers (representatives of families), whose family and friends—US citizens, are currently detained on Russian territory, as well as Human Rights Defenders of the International Movement “Global Citizens,” should be formed at the quickly by the Movement and begin its humanitarian mission in Moscow.
In one of his books, the famous American novelist Barbara Kingsolver writes that motherhood’s power is sometimes more potent than laws. It is difficult to disagree with those words. Maintenance the American mothers and us in our efforts, and we will succeed, however difficult it may seem today.
Only in the daily pragmatic dialogue between human rights defenders and American Mothers on the one hand and on the Russian side, represented by Russian Mothers (representatives of families) whose relatives are being held in custody on the territory of the US or third countries at the request of the US, we will be able to contribute to the final decision and create the momentum necessary to find a good algorithm for the American and Russian sides on this question, which will allow us to free and bring people home alive.
Analysis of the information that comes in shows an increase in the number of obstacles to establishing normal relations between Russia and the US and the rest of the world, which, according to our forecasts, will only increase shortly. We believe that in a situation that the world is witnessing today, it is unacceptable to politicize humanitarian issues related to the fate of people; they should not be held hostage to the political interests of States. At this time, we will not provide further information on this matter — to guarantee the safety of those detained both in Russia and in the United States.
We look forward to working with American lawmakers. US citizens who are being held in custody on the territory of Russia are to be released and returned home.
We are convinced that this fully meets the national interests of the United States and the people who delegated legislators to the US Congress.
Information for interested parties on support from US Senators and Congressmen will be continuously updated in future editions of the Fact Sheet and on the official internet resource in the section Crooked Mirror: Who among the US Senators and Congressmen, sincerely, is interested in the fact that the citizens of the United States of America, who are being held in custody on the territory of Russia, are liberated and came back home to their relatives and friends.
Behind every event that happens to us are specific people, the American nation have the right and will know their names.
Given the international status of the “We’ll Bring Them Home Alive” initiative, we are also preparing an appeal to the British Parliament to support our efforts and British Mothers (family members) whose relatives are British citizens and are being held in custody on the territory of Russia, so that release them and bring them home.
We will also urge Russian Mothers to share our position and join us in this matter, which directly affects the interests of numerous Russian families whose close and dear are held in custody abroad.
We must not stop until the people detained abroad are in the loving arms of family and friends, and we will succeed, however difficult it may seem today.
