The Global Citizens International Movement welcomes and sincerely thank H.E. Mr. Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, for his Good Offices Mission to return home the 17 Armenian prisoners of war who were detained in custody on the territory of Azerbaijan and commends President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
We hope that this critical humanitarian act could be a positive step towards strengthening confidence among all, enabling regular and constructive dialogue at all levels to pave the way to an eventual settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The Global Citizens urge all relevant parties to take further measures in this spirit to ensure continued momentum in the ongoing peace efforts.
The Global Citizens International Movement also calls on H.E. Mr. Anthony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and H.E. Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia to support the efforts of the Movement to release and return home, citizens who are currently detained in foreign countries under the International Civilian Initiative “We’ll Bring Them Home Alive.”
