Letters were sent by the Coordinator-General of the International Movement Global Citizens to Democratic Party Leaders in the United States Senate and urged Senators to encourage the efforts of the Movement and American mothers as well as family representatives whose relatives detain in Russia as to their release and return home.
We’ll Bring Them Home Alive, an initiative to free U.S. citizens detained in Russia to return them home, should receive bipartisan support from U.S. senators.
It is unacceptable to politicize humanitarian issues related to the fate of people; they should not be held hostage by political interests.
We couldn’t stop until American citizens detained in Russia were in the loving arms of family and friends.
We are convinced that this fully meets the United States’ national interests and the people who delegated legislators to the U.S. Congress.
Earlier letters were also sent to Republican Party Leaders in the United States Senate.
