Two of the Americans, Alexander Drueke, 39, and Andy Huynh, 27, fighters thought to have been captured by Russian forces in Ukraine, have suddenly surfaced in Russian videos, confirming their families’ worst fears that they’ve wound up in enemy hands.
We call on the U.S. State Department to assist us in contacting the Drueke and Huynh families to join the international civil initiative “We’ll Bring Them Home Alive.”
Only in the daily pragmatic dialogue between human rights defenders and American Mothers on the one hand and on the Russian side, represented by Russian Mothers (representatives of families) whose relatives are being held in custody on the territory of the U.S. or third countries at the request of the U.S., we will be able to contribute to the final decision and create the momentum necessary to find a good algorithm for the American and Russian sides on this question, which will allow us to free and bring people home alive.
We urge U.S. Congressmen and Senators to maintain the American mothers and us in our efforts, and we will succeed, however difficult it may seem today.
We also urge the Russian side to share our position and join us in this matter, directly affecting the interests of numerous Russian families who’s close are held in custody abroad.
We are convinced that this is entirely in the national interests of the United States and Russia.
