The Global Citizens International Movement Coordinator-General called on the HE Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco, and the Ms. Amina Bouayach, President of the National Human Rights Council of Morocco, to assist in the Movement’s efforts to release from custody Mr. Saadoun and to undertake all available negotiating instruments for this purpose.
The message reads, in part:
“The sentence of Moroccan citizen Mr. Saadoun to death was shocking. We express our support to all of Mr. Saadoun’s relatives and friends.
It is unacceptable to politicize humanitarian issues related to the fate of people; they should not be held hostage by political interests.
We live in an endless battle of narratives about the issues determining our future. We have to understand these different positions if we want to look for common ground.”
